Lecture on Monday, 18 oct 2010

First of all, I want to say sorry because coming late to class..I know it is all about my false..but I did not mean to do that so..I got the moral of the story at that day..I swear I would not came late again..Insyaallah..Late comers sitted at the front class and at the end lecture of road safety we get a lesson from Dr. Illias..(+_+)..ermm..let we ended that story..let it go..but take the moral lesson..(^_^)

Bottom Billion by Dr Puad...

In this lecture we have been talk about which country are listed as a bottom billion country..Mostly, the name's of the country we have never heard before..

What are the important thing about bottom billion? From my thought and views..I can see we need to know and ensure who are suffering and had a lower income in this country..Malaysia..Government should take initiatives throught this matter..

We are also been showed with the picture of the youngers billion..Who are created facebook..allowed us to communicate with others and find our old friends..which is lost contact..

For an example, there is a place in Perak with their resident had a low income..Improper features and improper life...but government in perak would not give funds to improve their life become better than before...

Made one DYMAXION for every person. There is 20 panels..Then photo montaged individual RUS101 assignment before..select 5 the best from all of them..After montaged that photo, warp it around globe..The design must satisfy the following criterias;

• Innovative installation (Avoid the obvious).

Lastly, this is my final product;

TryiNg to BUilT dOme..

About 2.30pm at HBP..Place where we practicing for merdeka event..
Find out where are our own struts and placed by following section. After that, we try to build dome for base stage. It is quite hard and joint between struts and PVC pipe must be tightened. That matter should be considered because all of them will be falling down just one of struts is failure.

Assignment 9A Abstract, 9B Paper and 9C Poster

We must form a group in 5 people among same course. I'm major in architecture.

First meeting we have made at DUP A. Discussing among group members on how we want to started it and what are the sub topic for us to be related on "Time to talk alone is dying; We need to UNITE, SHARE, SERVE & SEE change" which is topic for who majoring in architecture. What must we do are;

• 300-word abstract of a paper on the given main topic. Submit on A4 Portrait, Monday 11 October 2010.
• After that produce a 1500-word paper. Submit on A4, Monday 18 Oct 2010.
• Selected paper shall be presented on 25 Oct.
• Lastly produce an A2 Poster paper base on our topic and submit on 25 Oct 2010.

The Malay World View

Firstly he said that what is the big deal with melayu?

Actually there is no big deal about melayu. It is same like the other races. all of us is human..if our hand been cut, we can see red blood color will comes out. no matter you in what races or religon...

Then at a long time ago, some malay words are been translated by english words. Such as; ice box==>peti sejuk..

Then he ask us "who is malay?" by see through pictures on the slides.

Is that their cloths or style represented who are they? and what are the races of he/she?

The answer is not..cloths and style could not represented somebody.(^_^)

Things that we should be consider and the big deal is THE MALAY CULTURE..their behaviour and beliefs..way of the belief system about food and how are it being prepared.

Other than that, Bahasa Melayu..in poetry literature of malay it can be "pantun, seloka, syair, gurindam" and etc..and as we know malay always linked by story like Hikayat seri rama, hikayat marung maha wangsa, si tangang and etc..

Report For BIG~~

Pada 4 oktober 2010, bertempat di Dewan Kuliah E48B telah diadakan perbincangan mengenai BIG dan juga lompatan APEX. Taklimat diberikan oleh En. Wan Burhanuddin. Serba sedikit tentang BIG telah dikupaskan oleh beliau. Kemudian beliau memberi penerangan dari segi ekonomi, sistem sosial, pendidikan, ketenteraan dan sebagainya. Sebagai contah; sistem pendidikan perlu dinyah belajar dan kita perlu membina masyarakat seperti komuniti semut. Sentiasa saling bekerjasama antara satu sama lain. Antara selogan yang beliau sebut ialah "2010 waits for no man". Kemudian mahram, pelajar dari Iran telah memberi sedikit pengalaman yang beliau perolehi semasa mengikuti jurusan ini. Upacara diteruskan lagi dengan pembukaan sesi perbincangan. Antara soalan yang dikemukakan ialah "How hard you find those bamboo to built dome?", "How long bamboo to achieve their maturity?", "Is there bamboo plantation in Malaysia?", "How this can be as Apex mission?", "Is it take anyone as a model?", "We are built a PONDOK, but is it could be functional during turnado or nay else disaster?", "Could or not, a bamboo to generate electricity or energy?", "lifespan of bamboo?", and "Is bamboo can be act as a medicine?". Jadi antara jawapan yang telah diberikan oleh En. Burhanuddin ialah "We order those bamboo from agent", "no! we would not take anybody as our role model because if we made it, we will always be behind that model.", "We construct this PONDOK for any weather. create the others opportunity where we does not know what would be happen", "Engineer will work on it, so we really need engineer to help us.", " How long does bamboo will life, we need a researcher to answer that question.", dan "Ianya boleh dijadikan sedagai ubat untuk merawat sawan gila babi.". Setelah selesai sesi soal jawab maka berakhirlah perbincangan pada hari itu. Akhir sekali En. Wan Burhanuddin meminta kami mencari tempat yang luas untuk membina kubah tersebut. Sesuatu perumahan ataupun masyarakat yang menghargai hasil usaha kita dan tidak mahu menjadi seperti pepatah " Hidung tak mancung, pipi tersorong-sorong".

Practising day~~

Once again I'm so sorry because I just came to practise on sunday, after I came back to USM. The moral value that I got for that day is we should be unite and helping each others to ensure that dome would be joint perfectly. En. Rusli also came to our place and give talk to our team members that we should not rigid with the shape of dome. We are not an engineer but HBP students...We are allowed to design whatever shape like playing Lego while childhood.

Class on friday 4/10/2010..

I'm so sorry because I just came for a short time. So I just heard until DYMAXION only which given by En. Rusli. This is because I have been selected to attand camp at Paya pahlawan, Jitra Kedah for MPDAD..During that day we also have been informed about this coming monday, would be briefing about BIG group..Which means Bamboo Interest Group..For this event, it should not be attand by us only but,there's also some others lecturer or student from the diff course. Each of us also must provide at least 1Q to be issued during that day.

Struts~~

After I choose the best bamboo with the things that I must consider as I told in my previous post, I cut it into two part which each of them has length of 2284cm and both side must be fit with the pvc pipe. For pvc pipe, it should be cut about 5.5inch from the above until downward. and the remain must be warm until it turn into flat shape. Then make a hole at that side. The step has been repeated. Lastly fit the final pvc pipe at the both side of struts and make sure it is tight.
