A NEW ADHESIVE FROM WASTE POLYSTYRENE
This is the research of Dr. Issam Ahmed Mohammed with Assoc. Prof. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly and Lim sock Siew. An adhersive from waste polystyrene could be used as a medium to ensure bamboo will connected to the others materials, otherwise by itself. The process of forming adhersive is very quickly and it is uncontaminated. This adhersive was an excellent when applied with different materials such as glass, wood, plastic and board. So, I think bamboo also should be able to joint with others materials by using adhersive waste polystyrene.
HAND-LAY UP EPOXY HYBRID NANOCOMPOSITES
This is the research of Dr. Chow Wen Shyang with Azhar Abu Bakar and Norkhairunnisa Mazlan. Composite structure manufacturing of varieties shapes, no size limitaion and it also does not required large capital investment. It is adaptable production which metal inserts or extrafibers can be added when needed. For this Hand-Lay Up it is an inexpensive moulds. While Hybrid Composites play an important role in combination of great toughness and stiffness. Otherthan that, the combination of glass fiber and clay could improve the mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy composite significantly and attributed to the reinforcement and thermal stability of both glass fiber and clay. The excellent flexural properties and good thermal properties of the epoxy hybrid nanocomposites make it suitable to be used in the application of structural panel, floor and wall tiles.
LOW COST HIGH PERFORMANCE FILLER for MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES from TIN MINE WASTE.
It is available in wide range particle size with narrow size distribution, particle shape and degree of crystallinity. This also can be customly manufactured according to specific need. So this invention could be able to used as a filler of bamboo...
The reason why I aggree that this invention can be used is;
1) Particle size below 10 power of -6 m and narrow particle size distribution. (which it can be easily filled in the hole on surface of bamboo.)
2)various particle of shape. (so it does not matter when the hole on the bamboo surface is in any shape)
3)minimal agglomeration
4)partially amorphous layer to improve coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).
It can be applied on plastic, paint, rubber, construction, adhersive,sealants and ceramics.
RAPID DIAGNOSIS for TROPICAL DISEASES
This research is from Prof. Asma Ismail and Prof. Rahmah Noordin. Based on this invention, they introduced two product name as BRUGIArapid and TYPHIrapid.
For the BRUGIArapid it is for test developed to provide a novel solution to Brugian filariasis within 15-20min. This test is the onty rapid immunochromatographic test to detect Brugia malayi and Brugia timori infections. But for the TYPHIrapid it is a test developed to provide a novel solution to typhoid diagnosis within 15min. Currently the only Igm test for typhoid that has been created using the immunochromatography platform in order to create a global impact for typhoid diagnosis.

The design for IBU with using invention of adhesive from waste polystyrene, epoxy nanocomposites. This is for make sure IBU have a strong structure to remain in 40 days.

This is my design toward the invention of rapid diagnosis for tropical diseases.

How my design works on IBU during disaster...
For adhesive from waste polystyrene, it can be used to joint one bamboo to the others bamboo. This is to ensure that IBU have the strong and tough structure so that it can maintain until 40 days.
While Epoxy Nanocomposites can be used to make the base or the floor of IBU. As i know based on the research made by Dr. Chow Wen Shyang, this epoxy nanocomposites could be form into varvious shape. So it is easier to us for take it as a floor. We also not wasting our valueable time.
Then, Low cost high performance filler for manufacturing industries from tine mine waste it has a very tiny structure so it may act a as filler of bamboo. because the tiny size of this filler it can be filled at the hole on bamboo. This filler also comes in a variety shape.
The last invention that i take for this assignment is rapid diagnosis for topical disease. I choose this topic because as we know when in a disaster time there is alot of disease could be formed. For example malaria, brugia malayi, brugia timori, typhoid and etc. So in this invention it is the only one product that can recognise this disease in a short period of time. It just take around 15-20minutes. And its also has a high sensitivity about >85%. In this method it is easy to perform, interpret and no need a special equipment. The most important thing, it is economical which we effort to buy it in a large number of items. This rapid diagnosis for topical disease is really important because we can detect who have been infected by this diseases and percaution step could be made to avoid this diseases comes into a serious case.
